Plantation Event


The Department of Public Administration organized a significant plantation event on September 4th, 2023 in GCWUF, to address environmental concerns by mitigating rising temperatures and improving humidity levels. The event was graced by Kamal Anjum Mirza, the Senior Superintendent of Police, who served as the chief guest. Javed Iqbal, CEO of Green Gardens, played a pivotal role as a master trainer, providing insights into tree planting techniques and stressing the importance of kitchen gardening. Tariq Tanveer, CEO and Founder of Agri-Tourism Development, and Sajid Iqbal Sandhu, CEO Green Circle attended as special guests. Professor Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Vice Chancellor of GCWUF, lauded the initiative to make Pakistan environmentally conscious. She highlighted how such green efforts enhance the city's aesthetics, combat air pollution, provide shade, and support local wildlife. The event began with an awareness walk highlighting the significance of environmental consciousness. In a symbolic gesture of commitment to the cause, the Vice Chancellor and other notable guests planted their own trees during the event, leaving a lasting mark of their dedication to a greener future for Faisalabad and Pakistan. The event received further support from key figures, including Registrar Asif A. Malik, Controller of Examination Ms. Rizwana Tanveer Randhawa, Treasurer Ansar Mughal, and the coordinator of the Faculty of Management and Administrative Sciences, Dr. Nausheen Syed, Coordinator of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Prof Dr Aidha Sameen, Add'l Director Media Cell Amara Javed, faculty members, students and media representatives planted their tree saplings and contributed actively to the success of the plantation drive. Department of Public Administration is grateful to Agri-Tourism, Green Circle, and Green Gardens, who generously donated 200 saplings for this noble cause. Dr. Saiqa Sadiq, the Incharge of the Department of Public Administration, eloquently expressed the significance of tree planting as an engaging and eco-friendly activity for individuals to partake in, contributing to the betterment of our planet. She concluded the event with a heartfelt vote of thanks, leaving an indelible mark of environmental stewardship.
